This Fall, MIF has been working to help facilitate the installation of the Crew Fire House!
As most of you know, the Marrowstone Island Foundation (MIF) has been engaged in a multi-year effort to secure a building on Marrowstone Island to house volunteer firefighters and EMTs. These efforts are about to bear fruit with the delivery of a firehouse this August.
The Marrowstone Island Foundation Board of Directors meets to discuss and review options for the Island Fire Station.
For those of you interested in our report on the Marrowstone Island Foundation’s work in 2021, and our rather exciting plans for 2022, you can see the recording of our December 9, 2021, Annual Public Meeting by clicking the link to the right.
Marrowstone Island Foundation supports medical, emergency, and safety services on the Island. At times, we have been able to provide scholarships or stipends to students pursuing these fields of study. When opportunities are available, they will be listed here.
Those in attendance: Bud Ayres, MIF President
Dave Johnson, EJFR Fire Commissioner
Chief Bret Black, EJFR
Commissioner Dave Johnson
Jim Nuerenberg, Project Manager
Bruce Carlson, MIF Past President, Pat Burns, MEMS
On November 4th 2021, members from EJFR and MIF gathered at the construction site on Flagler Rd to formally begin the improvement project. In addition to the current apparatus bays on-site there will soon be quarters to house volunteer first responders.
